Hawai'ian movie locations and sea turtles

We began the morning by driving North through the centre of the island - up into the mountains. Stopping at the Pali Lookout, we could look south and see the tropical beauty of the island.

Today we went to Kualoa Range Zipline and Activity Park. We intended on going zip lining but all the tickets had booked out for the day so instead we got the farm and ocean tour. First we had the Farm tour at 10:30am, so we got on the tour bus and sat down to listen to the guide.

We got to see a cocoa plant, red ginger, ginger plant and many more things. Then we drove a little more until we got to a area where a scene of Jurassic world was filmed and and many other scenes from movies were filmed. We got back into the bus and drove to a building so we could try some of the foods they made and had like Macadamia nuts, fish, taro paste (poi), papaya and apple banana. I really enjoyed the macadamia nuts, fish, taro paste and papaya, but I am not a big fan of banana.

After going on our ranch tour, we went on an ocean cruise. We passed a couple of small reefs and saw some sea turtles - they're so cute (We tried taking photos of them in the water, but they were so fast). It was so much fun heading out. Looking back towards the island and seeing the sheer mountains and tropical plants made us realise how incredible this experience was.

After leaving Kualua Ranch, we drove around the Eastern side of the island and stopped to walk to the Makapu'u lighthouse. This was a good opportunity to get a bit of walking in, and to look out over the Pacific Ocean.
