The wedding venue

Today we had the opportunity to go out to the wedding venue for a rehearsal. The house is beautiful; situated in the middle of Alaskan wilderness. Mike Candis Jnr is a college friend of Cole and the house is owned by his parents. It was really nice to spend time with Cole and Robin, with their friends, just relaxing and having a bit of fun before the wedding.

After the rehearsal, we came back to the Holiday Inn for a swim and to freshen up. For dinner we went to the Alaskan Salmon Bake. This place was somewhat unique. It was a buffet, where each station was in a different building. At the BBQ you could select from salmon, prime rib steak and battered cod. After picking up the meat you went to other stations to pick up salad ingredients and sides. If you paid a bit extra, then you could add crab legs (King or Dungeness).

It was great getting to know Robin's family a bit more. Both Eliza and I had some very animated conversation with Robin's aunts and cousins. There was a lot to talk about.
Eliza really enjoyed getting lots of hugs from Cole and Robin. It is a special time for us both.

We then spent a short time in the park returned back to the inn - ready for a big day tomorrow!
